Around the house, upstairs

Thought I’d go around the house with other Christmas decorations.  I know it is January, but, for us Christmas starts this Saturday!

We have had this Nativity since my kids were babies, there were a couple of years I could not find it...so bought another, but it was never ‘right’. Bought this from a Christmas around the World party, anyone remember those?
Mantle #1, the big rock lights are IKEA.. the print above(year round) is from our nephew..Phil Mosby...he has a website.  I actually have 4 of his prints around the house.
Closer look at the Joy sign
This is the door sign, our wreath is too thick and the year I hung it up, it ‘fought’ with the screen door.

In the guest room..there was a time I had a tree in each room..maybe once again.   There was this one and one in the office...though office is year round.  A TEXAS tree.

Mantle #2, cannot post full mantle...have pics of grands, and have been told no pics on social media for one set.   The reason I cannot post one of my favorite Christmas decor ever!!! Cuz it is pic of one of the grandkids with Santa.

This swan has decorated our guest bathroom for years.  Don’t worry it gets a dousing of Lysol spray before and after.. my mom made it for us.

And she made these flowers.  She made paper flowers out of gift tissue paper and wire.   I remember they were a big seller at our yearly elementary school carnival.

Off to work, I go...which means down the stairs to what was once dh’s man cave.   I should feel guilty......nope!!!

Happy New Year!!

Found this meme on Facebook this morning...it works!   I am on a no spend challenge...till April 28.   In the hopes of using my considerable stash.   The date is from when Pleasanton Expo was traditionally scheduled and it is my dgd’s 12th birthday.    I am maintaining my kit clubs.   The Scraproom for paper, Kiwi Lane for templates, and Coco & Reno for dies.

So, Happy New Year!  My Japanese mother had this tradition of ‘whatever’ you do on NYD..you did all year long.  So do all your cleaning, shopping before...so you can spend your year doing what you like.  You KNOW what my plans are!!!

SCRAPBOOKING!!  This would be considered a base page

Last piece of paper from a kit..combined with some strip cut outs from another line.

MJM and I made waffles for breakfast...

And Pride and Prejudice on the tv in my scraproom.   Ha!!!

Another Japanese tradition my mom told us was giving money ... guess the thought was so you would have money throughout the year.   I changed that to books for our family., well, grandkids now.   Mom also used to cook a special New Year’s meal...but being almost 60, I cannot remember what it is.   Just that I liked it.   (edited, it was sukiyaki)

Tonight we have an instant pot jambalaya planned.
Y’all have a Happy New Year..filled with doing what you love with the ones you love.
