Home upgrades...

This year we started upgrading our home.  We have been here over 10 years, and time to make the changes we have been dreaming of...and probably prep to sell eventually    The upgrades are ongoing...I just did not know, until recently....

Last week I arrived home to find that things were taken off my hallway shelves and books were cattywompus... (I was actually able to google that)   and asked my husband what is going on?
"Oh I hired Allen to move them and fix the baseboards around them so the look more built in"

Oh, nice...kinda felt odd that someone was in my home that I had no knowledge of.

Anyways, so dh bought some faucets to be replaced and 2 new vanities for the master bath.  No problem, with the vanities, as I picked them out when we were replacing the light fixtures.  BUT the faucets.   One was for the guest bath...the one we had was damaged.  The previous mirror fell off its anchors and slid down the pipe..and left a gaping scuff mark.

Now, when I first put the bathroom together, I had bought a faucet.  But our Plumber refused to install it.  So had to go with plan B.

I told dh I still had that faucet and IF Possible I REALLY wanted that one installed.  And Allen did it, I am told it was difficult and took 4 hours...but...I love it...

I went with a spa effect in this bathroom...Morning Fog is the wall color, glass tile wall and the glass vanity sink... LOVE this sink and thought my original faucet was perfect for it...

and it is.  Even dgd#1 liked it.   the extra faucet will be going back to Lowes.

and cuz I like them so much, here are my mermaid prints I bought from Etsy.

So, on to the master bathroom redo.  Luckily dh told me before Allen started so I was able to move my toiletries.  Only thing is 3 days later and I am still unable to put them back.  So, my stuff is in a laundry basket in the tub...so I can use them after shower.  And toothbrush is set up in the Scrapbook room (formerly inlaw suite)  bathroom.   Siiiiiigh, it will be worth it when it is done.

for those who missed it....here is a link to the scraproom redo, our first stop in this home upgradescraproom update, when it was still clean

We're refurbishing an old house, so I know the pains of renovation. But little things, like a faucet you love, add to that homey feel. We just had to replace our kitchen sink faucet and we weren't planning to touch that room for some time. But everytime I see it, it feels "right". Good luck with your renovations.
